Juniper Network Management Platform

I led the largest team in EchoUser’s 10-year history with a new client, Juniper Networks. Over 10 months, my team created a solid user experience framework that modernized and unified the organization’s many products for one of their UX teams.

We delivered:

  • Product design iterated on hand-in-hand with research usability studies

  • A design pattern library

  • A visual design framework

  • A heuristic evaluation and solutions, including visual comps and specs

Timeline

Design Pattern Library

We collaborated with Juniper’s internal UX team to develop a UI pattern and component library for their next-generation product suite using Patternry. The library provided detailed guidelines and specifications for how 34 key UI elements, such as alerts & notifications, date & time range selector, should look and behave.

UI Design And Iteration

In addition to conducting the heuristic evaluation to identify where the Security Director product was violating standard heuristics, I split up the work for solving the 250 issues I unearthed, and iterated on the design of the piece of Security Director where users create UTM (unified threat management) policies.

What's Next

Juniper continues to engage with EchoUser for their UX needs.

Carol was essential to our success as she easily transitioned among various design activities, including heuristic evaluations and doing interaction design for complex UI patterns and workflows. Additionally, she took on a project management / leadership role for her team, and made sure that they were organized and moving forward per our requirements.
