Google Feedback

I redesigned the mobile experience for submitting feedback on all Google products. This was around the time that Google's Material Design was announced. The mobile experience didn't allow for highlighting or blacking out portions of the screenshot that is sent when you send feedback on a product. I designed these features, made improvements to the existing feature, and applied Material Design. I also explored taking a more conversational approach to sending feedback. Ultimately I decided the expectations around having a conversation didn't quite fit the feedback user flow and mental model.

Impact

Designing this feature made it possible for users to interact with and customize the feedback they provide to Google, rather than submitting a static screenshot. This allows for richer communication so that Google can better understand what part of the experience the user is talking about, saving time and money.

What's Next

I finished the project a month ahead of schedule. You can see the design by submitting feedback on any Google mobile product.

Carol was asked to design a consistent user experience for collecting feedback from visitors & customers across 300+ Google desktop products and 60+ mobile apps on both Android & iOS. It was a grand task and Carol was up to the challenge. Finishing the project a month ahead of schedule, speaks to Carol’s maturity as a designer and the grace and ease at which she moves through the design process.
